A lucky bidder claimed a guitar signed by Michael Bolton for US$900 during a virtual auction on Sunday night.
The auction took place while lots of gathered at Couples Sans Souci resort to see the Grammy Award-winning artiste render a few of his most classic hits.
“Michael Bolton is showing commitment to the explanation for the Issa Trust Foundation. He donated the signed guitar because he knows the proceeds from the sale of the guitar contribute to the constructing of the Mary Issa Health Centre for kids,” marketing executive Sean “Contractor” Edwards told the Jamaica Observer.
At the top of the night, dubbed An Evening With Michael Bolton, over US$350,000 was raised to spearhead the development of the health centre slated for Richmond in St Ann.
Edwards further stated that the auction, which also included art pieces and other gadgets, was mounted to also involve those that couldn’t make the show.
“The auction was really good, since it gave individuals who couldn’t attend the show a possibility to contribute to the constructing and operation of the Mary Issa Health Centre,” he said.
The marketing executive was also pleased concerning the seamless execution of the concert.
“I’m very happy with the show because patrons were treated to their first-class, five-star concert experience . This may have began from their transportation via police escort in shuttles from the designated car parking zone. The seated patrons were all elegantly dressed. The delicious food and premium drinks flowed all night together with high-quality performances, which saw the Prime Minister and his wife present from start to complete,” he said.
The Issa Trust Foundation was established in 2005 by Couples Resorts as a non-profit organisation. The mission of the muse is to supply a system of prevention, health promotion and education, community health improvement, and other services to advertise the well-being and development of the Jamaican people.
